La Grande Bastide
Holiday rentals in Provence
Welcome to la grande bastide
Situated in the heart of the natural park of the famous Luberon region, between the Vaucluse mountains and the Colorado Provençal hills, the large country house La Grande Bastide of Rustrel has overlooked the valley for several centuries.
Located on a four hectare domain, the house is surrounded by elegant terraces, vineyards, an olive yard, a fruit orchard, and gardens of aromatic plants, roses, lavender, laurel, and honeysuckle which color and perfume the atmosphere.
The bordering woods are made up of century-old oaks and pines.
From the poolside, one can enjoy the limitless views of the landscape and the colourful Colorado. It is also the best place to watch spectacular sunsets.
The house has been completely renovated and decorated for your comfort. We hope to offer you the most pleasant of stays.
La Grande Bastide offers four different rentals with different sizes. You can rent each of them individually or also rent the entire Grande Bastide to enjoy a fully private stay with up to 35 guests.

The pool water is treated with magnesium salts, making it odourless and much gentler for your skin than conventional chlorine.
The pool is regularly cleaned and checked by a specialised company.
La Grande Bastide and its rentals are open all year long. Do not hesitate to contact us to book a stay or if you would like to learn more about the rentals, the domain or the region.
The property is at the entrance of the Rustrel village and near the city Apt. La Grande Bastide is close to many of Provence’s historic sites, including Roussillon, Gordes, Sault, Forcalquier and Manosque. You can also reach Avignon, Aix en Provence, Cavaillon and Carpentras in an hour or less. It is a wonderful place to spend holidays with your family and friends, visit the Vaucluse and recharge your batteries under the sun of Provence.
The region is very popular with walkers and cyclists. You can walk to the Colorado Provençal in less than 10 minutes and follow the many trails within it. You can also enjoy wonderful bike rides through vineyards and lavender fields (in season), and perhaps take on the legendary Tour de France routes up Mont Ventoux.
Many local markets are within easy reach. The famous Apt market, dating back to the 12th century, attracts crowds every Saturday to find local products. You’ll also find local wine and olive oil producers.
